Chronic Pain Management

Chronic pain can be defined as pain that lasts longer than six months. Chronic Pain can be mild or excruciating, episodes, or continuous. Signals of pain are active in the nervous system for months or even years which can affect an individual emotionally and physically.

The symptoms of chronic pain include:

  • Mild to severe pain that does not go away
  • Pain that may be described as shooting, burning, aching, or electrical
  • Feeling of discomfort, soreness, tightness, or stiffness

Chronic pain is a matter of biology; nerve impulses keep telling an individual about tissue damage that no longer exists which is where psychological factors play a role. However, there are various treatment options to cure chronic pain.
